Course Title: Application of Mechanism Design and Production – Robotics

Subject: Technology

Applicable: 10th graders

This course module offers numerous opportunities for students to learn creative mechanism design. By combining 3D digital teaching material with hands-on activities, this module can assist students in cultivating the ability to put knowledge into practice as well as learning the technological application of space, structure, and mechanism. The curriculum design focuses on interdisciplinary STEM integration. Through the process of inquiry and practice, students can reinforce their competence to observe, record and analyze data, evaluate the result and utilize data to communicate. As a result, students will develop the capability to design the final product based on the knowledge they learned in class.

Moreover, students’ inquiry and problem-solving skills will be refined through scenario-based learning in this class. By setting real-world issues in class, students are required to inquire into the proposed problems and apply the knowledge they have learned to solve them. The final product of this course would be a small robot. In class, students are encouraged to integrate their knowledge in science, mathematics, and mechanism to come up with a product design that addresses the challenges they encounter.
